Google Quick Search Box For Android 1.6 To Enhance Searching Experience

Google has announced Quick Search Box (QSB) for Android that offers a fast and versatile new system-wide search experience which is available at phone home screen. The Quick Search Box is being created to provide suggestions as the user types and make it easy to access whatever they are looking for by just typing a few characters.

QSB has been designed with a single search box that lets the user to search content on their phone including apps, contacts and browser historical as well as content from the web like personalized search suggestions, local business listings, stock quotes, weather, and flight status, all without opening the browser. Moreover, it able to move the most searches queries at the top of the suggestion list for quick access.

Another innovative feature of the QSB is it incorporates a microphone button that enables the user to search the web and call contacts by voice. The QSB voice search currently only works in English. In addition, the QSB allows third party apps to include suggestions in the list and making it faster to access the content from the apps.

The Quick Search Box is expected to change the way and shortening the time for searching the contents. Quick Search Box is available in the latest version of Android 1.6.
