Mamiya has just released the DL28 digital medium format camera system. The DL28 Digital Camera offers professional features and benefits that is only available in much more expensive cameras. For example, the DL28’s resolution offers an impressive 28 Megapixels with its large sensor allows a pixel size of 7.2 microns. That produces images with outstanding richness and color accuracy, low noise, and striking highlight and shadow detail. Moreover, it comes with a 3.5-inch (diagonal) screen which is the largest in the industry, and also a bright, high-contrast touch screen that is ideal for outdoor or indoor work.



The DL28 is the combination of Aptus-II 6 Digital Back from Leaf and the 645AFD III body. The 645AFD III body features a new coreless autofocus motor for faster and more accurate autofocusing, and an enhanced interface system that provides total communication between the camera, lens and digital back. 

The camera come with 16-bit capture, 12 stop dynamic range and an ISO range of 50-800. It is effectively a full featured professional digital solution that allows photographers to focus on creating the image without worrying about the technology. The 28 megapixel sensor provides raw files of 53Mb, while 16 bit TIFF files exceed 159 MB. With that, you will have all information needed for virtually any size reproduction.

The DL28 supports compact flash media storage. It also provides possibility of using firewire cable and Leaf Capture 11.2 software to shoot directly to the computer. One highlight is the latest Leaf Capture software allows other people to view your creativity on their iPhones as you continue shooting!

The Mamiya DL28 will be available November 2008 and it is expected to be sold at $14,999.
