The song, “This Is It” which has the same title with the now canceled sold-out Michael Jackson return concert in London, is the first track left behind by Michael Jackson to emerge after the singer’s death in June.

This Is It is a voice-and-piano demo culled from an extensive archive of unreleased Jackson music embellished with orchestration, and features backing vocals by Jackson’s brothers, with whom he burst into prominence in 1969 as the Jackson 5. Began from midnight of October 12, 2009, This Is It is available for streaming at michaeljackson.com and listening via radio stations’ airwaves.

This Is It single will be part of the This Is It soundtrack, a two-disc album containing mix of hits and unreleased recordings, which scheduled to be released internationally on October 26, 2009 and in North America on October 27, 2009. According to Sony Music Columbia and Epic Label Group, the first disc of the album will feature some of Jackson’s greatest hits plus two versions of the new single. The second disc will include unreleased versions of some of the singer’s classic tracks and a spoken word poem entitled “Planet Earth” performed by Jackson and never heard before.

Also available will be “This Is It” documentary movie which showcases Michael Jackson’s preparations for the This Is It 50-night concert residency in London O2 Arena, just before he died. The movie will be premiered globally in cinemas and theaters on October 28, 2009. The “This Is It” movie was the subject of a $60 million deal between Jackson’s estate and concert promoter AEG Live and Sony Pictures, and a HD movie trailer for This Is It is now been released on thisisit-movie.com, showing Michael Jackson and backing dancers rehearsing their routines for This Is It concert shows.
