Recently, Canon has annouced its first AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) digital camcorder, the Canon HR10 which measures 93mm (h) x 65mm (w) x 133mm (d) and weighs 530g and stores 1080 HD footage onto a 8cm mini DVD. The Canon HR10 HD camcorder features a full HD 1920 x 1080px CMOS image sensor that also captures 3 MP still images. It’s a compact and user-friendly HD camcoder for home consumer to capture HD video.

The Canon HR10 HD camcoder which powered by DIGIC DV II HD Image Processor also features an 2.7 inch wide LCD screen with an anti-glare coating, 10x optical zoom lens, HDMI connector and miniSD card slot. With advanced technology including Canon’s exclusive Instant AF focus system and Super Range Optical Image Stabilization, this Canon AVCHD camcorder is able to obtain the sharpest High Definition video possible.

In addition, the HD video that recorded can playback on most AVCHD compatible DVD players, as well as the majority of Blu-ray disc players with its AVCHD format. The all-new Canon HR10 HD DVD camcoder is available in coming August for $1199.
