The Japanese leading retailers in new technology that provides high quality products, Hitachi has recently announced its 2 new HD camcorders that able to record HD video directly onto a 8cm Blu-ray discs. Both of them are named as DZ-BD7HA and the DZ-BD70A, with the DZ-BD7HA hybrid model attracting more attention. This hybrid camcorder is comes with an internal 30GB HDD (hard disk drive) and a Blu-ray disc write/read drive, which allows you to choose the storage media that you prefer during video recording. Besides, it also can capture an 4.32 megapixel photoshots on a SD memory card.

According to Jeff Fochtman, product manager of Hitachi, “It was important for us to be the first to offer consumers the impressive benefits of Blu-ray disc technology. To be the first manufacturer to create two models of the world’s first Blu-ray disc camcorders that shoot, playback and store HD video is a huge milestone for us and something we are exceptionally proud of.”

With just a click on a dedicated button, you are allowed to copy the datas/videos from HDD to Blu-ray disc within the camcorder itself. It’s so convenient. In addition, this Hitachi model can record up to 4 hours of full HD 1920×1080 HX mode (top quality mode) video on its HDD, while a single sided 8cm Blu-ray disc records up to 1 hour. Besides, it also features 10X optical zoom and an 5.3 megapixel CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) image sensor which is able to capture the true nature of an object by reading the pixel area at a very rapid speed. Anyway, if you don’t have a HDTV, you still can record standard definition MPEG2 video to standard DVD with its SD mode/setting.

Both of the new Hitachi DZ-BD7HA hybrid Blu-ray camcorder and DZ-BD70A HDD-less model are expected to be available in coming October for around $1500 and $1300 respectively.
