Sony Ericsson has announced 6 new handsets and 3 new Bluetooth watches including K850, W910, W960, K530, Z250 and Z320. The Sony Ericsson W910 and W960 are the latest high-end Walkman models for the company and catching the most attention. The W910 is a slider phone that boast high-speed HSDPA, 2.4-inch (262k color) QVGA display, Walkman 3.0 media player software and 2 megapixel camera. It also features an innovative control mechanism, the new “Shake Control” that allows you to shuffle through the music collection by shaking the phone.

Besides, the W960 candybar-designed phone is based on Symbian OS v9.1 and UIQ 3.0. SE W960 is a full featured smartphone that features a 3.2 megapixel camera, 8GB of on-board memory (Can store up to 8,000 songs), UMTS, an Opera browser, 2.6-inch touchscreen display (320×240 pixel) and integrated WiFi. In addition, you also can navigate the W960 and browse media files with the touch of a finger or stylus. In my opinion, this new Walkman phone will be Sony Ericsson’s answer to the Apple iPhone.

“Market enthusiasm for the Walkman phone range has far outshone even our own expectations,” says Miles Flint, Sony Ericsson President. “With lifetime global sales standing at over 26.5 million Walkman phones and users really understanding the benefits of ‘music on your mobile’, the time is right to release the next album! This means Walkman phones that make it quicker and easier to transfer or download music, plus innovative ways of searching through all of those tracks. It’s also about thinking beyond music, to games, videos and the Web.”

Both of Sony Ericsson W910 and W960 mobile phone will have the new TrackID music recognition software that can identify your favorite song on phone and find out instantly the name of the artist, track and album. Both Walkman phones will be available in coming Q4 but no words on their price yet.
