Nikon has announced the upcoming launch of its new compact, high-end flagship digital camera, named as Nikon COOLPIX P7000, which the company claims as the first COOLPIX model to feature a built-in neutral density (ND) filter, combining with full manual controls, EXPEED C2 processor, 7.1X optical zoom NIKKOR lens, 720p/24fps HD movie capture, RAW shooting, HDMI output and more advanced photography technologies into a single compact device.



Key features of Nikon COOLPIX P7000 includes:

  • 28mm wide-angle 7.1x optical zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens plus 5-way VR Image Stabilization System
  • High-resolution 3-inch (921,000-dot) display with wide viewing angle and anti-glare coating
  • High-performance EXPEED C2 image processing engine
  • Large optical viewfinder with diopter adjustment dial
  • (720p; 24fps) HD video capture with optical zoom and auto focus controls

  • RAW file function compatible with Mac and Windows PC

Nikon COOLPIX P7000 which measures 3.1 x 4.5 x 1.8 inches and weighs in at 12.7 ounces (includes battery and SD memory card) is scheduled to be available later this month for about $500.
