Nikon has announced the upcoming launch of its new compact, high-end flagship digital camera, named as Nikon COOLPIX P7000, which the company claims as the first COOLPIX model to feature a built-in neutral density (ND) filter, combining with full manual controls, EXPEED C2 processor, 7.1X optical zoom NIKKOR lens, 720p/24fps HD movie capture, RAW shooting, HDMI output and more advanced photography technologies into a single compact device.



Key features of Nikon COOLPIX P7000 includes:

  • Large 1/1.7-inch RGB CCD sensor with 10.1 megapixel resolution
  • 28mm wide-angle 7.1x optical zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens plus 5-way VR Image Stabilization System
  • High-resolution 3-inch (921,000-dot) display with wide viewing angle and anti-glare coating
  • High-performance EXPEED C2 image processing engine
  • Large optical viewfinder with diopter adjustment dial
  • (720p; 24fps) HD video capture with optical zoom and auto focus controls
  • Integrated Flash plus i-TTL Flash function
  • RAW file function compatible with Mac and Windows PC
  • ISO 100 – 6400, expandable to ISO 12,800
  • Zoom Memory enables users to specify a preset focal length with zoom photography
  • Full Manual Controls – Program, Shutter, Aperture, Manual modes for an extensive controls
  • Direct buttons for key functions such as ISO, white balance, bracketing and exposure compensation
  • Tone Level Information helps photographers achieve their desired exposure with nine levels of grey scale information

Nikon COOLPIX P7000 which measures 3.1 x 4.5 x 1.8 inches and weighs in at 12.7 ounces (includes battery and SD memory card) is scheduled to be available later this month for about $500.
