Pentax Announced 2 Optio Compact Camera

The innovative leader in the production of digital SLR and compact camera, Pentax has announced two new compact digital cameras – Optio P70 and Optio E70. The slim Pentax Optio P70 digital compact camera offers 12 megapixel resolution, a 4X optical zoom (equivalent to 27.5mm – 110mm), and a wide angle 28mm lens. The Optio P70 is available in multiple colors and with metal body. Other features include a 2.7 inch high resolutions, wide angle view LCD panel, and new Pixel Track Shake Reduction technology to decrease shake in low lighting. Additionally, it also offers Advanced Face Recognition that tracks up to 32 faces in 0.03 seconds, and both Smile Capture that automatically releases the shutter when subjects smile and Blink Detection to alert you if your subject’s eyes are closed.

 

Beside Optio P70, Pentax also announced the latest model in the Pentax easy to use and affordable compact digital E-series Optio E70. Optio E70 is designed for new digital users which offer simple operation with large control buttons in a compact, ultra-slim body. It also features with 10 megapixel CCD, a 3X wide zoom lens( equivalent to 35mm-105mm), a 2.4inch color LCD monitor to easily frame and review your images and video. Other features include compatible with AA batteries, seven auto picture shooting modes, Pixel Track Shake Reduction Technology, Advanced Face Recognition with 32 faces in 0.03 seconds), Smile Capture and Blink Detection.

The Pentax Optio P70 will be available for the price of $199.95 with option for three colors: white, red and silver. The Pentax Optio E70 will be available in champagne gold, deep blue and red for the price of $139.95. Both compact camera will expected to start shipping in Feb 2009.
