Pentax has announced two new budget compact digital cameras to its expanding camera portfolio – Pentax Optio RS1000 and Optio RZ10 compact digital camera. Both of them features a high-resolution 14 megapixel CCD sensor, 3.0-inch TFT LCD display, AF tracking, face detection, digital shake reduction, and capable of recording 720p HD video with monaural audio.



The new Pentax Optio RS1000 compact digital camera features an ultra-compact body with eye-catching interchangeable len system, 4x optical zoom, customizable body based on the color or design owner chose, with a removable front-panel “skins” – eleven standard skins that come equipped with the retail product. However, Pentax Optio RZ10 is aimed at a slightly more advanced audience, with 10x optical zoom, shake reduction, and support for the Eye-Fi wireless memory card.

Pentax Optio RS1000 and Optio RZ10 compact digital cameras support SD/SDHC/MMC media storage, with additional connectivity options include USB 2.0 High-speed data, standard-definition NTSC / PAL video output.

The new Pentax Optio RS1000 and Optio RZ10 are scheduled to hit the market in coming October for about $149.95 and $219.95 respectively, while the Pentax Optio RZ10 will be available in four colors – classic black, pure white, lime, and violet colors.
