Sony has announced the launch of its new sleek, high-end Sony NEX-VG10 Handycam equipped with an ultra-large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor (same as Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5), which the company claims as the world’s first consumer HD camcorder with interchangeable lenses, compatible with Sony E-mount (smaller and lighter) lenses, and A-mount lenses (optional LA-EA1 adapter is needed).

Sony NEX-VG10 Handycam interchangeable lens HD camcorder which measures 97 x 132 x 294 mm (includes supplied E-Mount SEL18200mm OSS zoom lens) and weights in at 620 grams (body only) is slated to be available in coming September for around $2,000, available now for pre-order at
