Take a design to its bare essentials and you have art. Electronic devices often fulfill a practical function and may even be aesthetically pleasing. But they seldom rise to the heights of art. Parrot, a global player in wireless mobile phone accessories, has collaborated with Jean-Louis Frechin, innovative founder of nodesign agency, to introduce their innovative digital photo frame, DIA.

Focusing on photos as the highlight of any display, DIA is designed with the concept of deconstructing the photo frame and literally making it disappear. The award-winning design features a rectangular box with control buttons and a 10 x 4 inch high-resolution screen which is projected image or light. The intangible screen constructed from the play of light and transparency, manifests itself as a subtle frame for the digital photos on display. For US$500, DIA is a technological marvel as well as a work of art.
