Skype is famous VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) application software that enables users to make free voice call from PC and smartphones. In view of more and more latest smartphones moving to Windows Mobile 6.1 that were released by Microsoft back to April, Skype has released a latest version (2.2.0.45) targeted specifically for Windows Mobile 6.1 OS devices such as latest HTC Touch Diamond, Asus P320, Palm Treo 800w and etc.

Basically it doesn’t have much great features as compared to previous version except the compatibility with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. The method of downloading is similar as any other mobile applications. User can select to download the Cab file here and store it in your mobile device (either device memory or external memory card) and then launch the application locally in it. Alternatively, just launch the executable file here directly in your PC environment and you will be guided step by step on how to install in your mobile device. Important notice here, you will need to have at least 12MB of device memory space or 6MB of external memory card space depending on where you are going to install the Skype software in.

Good news here, the latest version is not only limited to Windows Mobile 6.1 device usage but it is also compatible with all other older versions of Windows mobile devices ranging from Windows Mobile 2003, 05 and 06 versions. If you have any previous version being installed, do remember to uninstall it first before getting this latest copy at Skype now.
