LG.Philips LCD has announced that it has developed the first full-color flexible 4-inch active matrix (AM) OLED (organic light emitting diode) display that’s barely thicker than a human hair at just 150 μm thick. Besides, the flexible AMOLED display which uses a film of organic compounds to emit light features 320×240 QVGA resolution can reproduce 16.77 million colors in a high-quality image.

The world’s first high-resolution AMOLED which will be used in micro-mini computers and cell phones is built on flexible metal foil using amorphous-Silicon (a-Si) backplane technology. This amazing AMOLED display is expected to be used as a key component in wearable displays in the future.
