Loopbag Vanguard Stylish Laptop Backpack Review

Loopbag is a brand name for notebook and laptop bag, which also holds MacBook and netbook. With a “loop” in the name, you would expect a Loopbag is innovative, stylish, hip, special, and stand out among all other laptop bags in the market. Indeed it’s. Loopbags are built based on the power of curves with aim to find hidden uses inside the otherwise simple structures of bag. With the revolutionary structure, Loopbag able to have impressive styling and optimize the shape of the bags to reveal their basic and essential potential.

My Digital Life received a Loopbag Vanguard 15-inch Laptop Backpack Sand | Azure | Lime, where Sand | Azure | Lime is basically the color of the bag. One of the unique feature of Loopbag Vanguard Laptop Backpack is the “Total Opening” patented frame, which allows user to open access to almost every corner of the backpack.

The design of the Loopbag Vanguard laptop backpack is really unique and outstanding, with all the round and curvy design with two main zippers which runs all around the bag in kind of split ‘8’. The zipper allows the whole backpack to be almost completely unfolded. Of course, there are several sliders been attached to the main compartment zipper so that user can only open certain part of the bag. The design also allows Loopbag to have pockets at unexpected place.

The backpack has a main pocket with 3 layers, with a padded 10-mm-thick laptop sleeve in the middle, and A4 document compartment behind it. The opening has a rather large pocket on it. Then there is front pocket with two little pockets inside. What interesting is that there are two side pockets which open from the rear of backpack. When the side pockets are opened, four additional zipped pockets are available for use to store accessories, passports, mobile phone, MP3 player, keys and other minor things. There is even a secret zipped cash pocket on the shoulder strap, at around the waistline.

I like the padded laptop compartment and cash pocket most, which ensure that the notebook computer and coins are always safe and secure, although I wouldn’t expect anyone to throw around the bag in hope that the padding will safeguard the laptop, which supposedly for only accidental drop.

The backside pockets, while innovative and open up availability of new storage space, may be a little bit more cumbersome to open up for some users. As the zippers been cut across by the shoulder straps, user may need to adjust the strap when opening the zipper.

The feature of the Loopbag laptop backpack can be summed up in one word – impressive. The Loopbag really makes use of space available for storage generously and efficiently.

The design of Loopbag is unique, and impressive if not totally outstanding. The keep the bag neat look whether the bag is fully loaded or empty, Loopbag employs exclusive cut and encases the bag in rigid but dynamic structure, which is very true in the case.

Quality and Comfort

The Loopbag quality is superb. It’s made from durable Airguard waterproof nylon fabric manufactured by Texland, which has over 90% of high tenacious hollow yarn. The whole bag supposedly to be waterproof, including the zipper, though I would never drop the bag into the water to test it. The Airguard also has specially designed air loop to give users more softness, and keep users cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Most importantly, the bag really stands my rather abusive everyday use.

Loopbag backpack has an adjustable ergonomic nylon shoulder strap with shock-absorbing padding and genuine leather reinforcements. The “adjustable” is only meant for the length of the shoulder strap, but not the position of the padding, which I felt that the padding may be at uncomfortable position for some users.

Security

All the outside zippers of the Loopbag Vanguard laptop backpack has dual-slider, so it’s possible to lock the bag with padlock, although the pull tabs are not designed for padlock’s locking. However, the unique design of Loopbag backpack means that the zipper can be hidden in the back, facing the carrier’s back, for maximum security. Most importantly, the trendy design of Loopbag makes it hard to be imagined as a notebook or laptop bag, significantly reduce the risk of been targeted by laptop thief.

Storage Capacity

The 15-inch Loopbag Vanguard laptop backpack external dimensions measured 16.5″ x 12.6″ x 8.2″, which just enough to fit a notebook computer, with several other small items, despite its generous amount of pockets available. And with backpack alone weighes 3.3 pounds, with addition of a laptop with large power adapter, there is not much thing that can fit into the backpack before it’s getting too heavy for comfortable carry around. However, the storage should be adequate for people who mostly carry small items around, and want to keep them tidy and organized in easy to find pockets.

Conclusion

The Loopbag is my favorite laptop backpack currently, for its modern free, trendy design, fashionable look, secure protection, generous number of storage pockets and durable quality. In addition, Loopbag is water-resistant, and has unique zippers at the back feature to enhance the protection against theft.

Loopbag 15-inch Laptop Backpack Sand | Azure | Lime is on sale for $134.00 a piece, a reasonable price in my opinion for the quality and design that the bag provided. There are also other colors available, such as Anth | Lilac | Olive, Coffee | Coffee | Olive and Anth | Red | Grey.
