Internal source from Microsoft has claimed that official Windows 7 RC has been compiled, and will have the build tag of 7100.0.winmain_win7rc.090421-1700, which is build 7100. Beside, the release dates of Windows 7 RC, Windows 7 RTM and retail availability have generally been confirmed.

Windows 7 RC Build 7100 was compiled on April 21st, 2009 at 5 pm. Windows 7 RC is expected to be released to general public on May 5, 2009, where MSDN and TechNet subscribers should receive it earlier, as early as April 24th, 2009, although it’s reported that the build has been given to Microsoft OEM partners and TAP Gold customers.

It’s known that Windows 7 RC Build 7100 will be not much different from the leaked Windows 7 Build 7077 (32-bit Windows 7 Build 7077 and 64-bit Windows 7 Build 7077 download links). Both x86 and x64 editions of Windows 7 RC in English, German, Japanese, French and Spanish languages. Other the Windows 7 RC DVD ISO image, some MUI language packs for Windows 7 RC are expected to be released at the same time too, although some languages will come in different waves.

Microsoft had split development of Windows 7 into two branches after build 7076 – one for RC release, and one for RTM release, with RC branch continues to use build tag starting with 70xx, and RTM jumps to build tag starting with 7100. The latest build compiled by Microsoft internally on RTM branch is 7115.0.winmain.090421-1650. There are already a few fake torrents floating on BitTorrent trackers, but real one should come soon. The final build of Windows 7 RC has been leaked. Download 32-bit (x86) Windows 7 RC Build 7100.

Windows 7 RTM final product is expected to be release to OEM partners and special group of customers such as big corporations on third quarter (Q3) of 2009, probably before September, similar with previous speculation. While the retail of Windows 7 will only available on January 2010.
