Microsoft is going to make available the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta publicly for everybody who interested to try out the next generation Office productivity suite to download. From the official Office 2010 Beta site, a new suite edition of Office 2010 Beta is available, i.e. Office Home and Business 2010, instead of usual Office Professional or Ultimate 2010.

Within the FAQ, Microsoft does reveal the editions or SKUs which Office suites will be available for purchase. To the joy of 64-bit (x64) Windows operating system users, Office 2010 products will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Previous versions of Office such as Office 2007, Office 2003 and Office XP only available in 32-bit (x86) flavor.

It’s unclear whether Microsoft will continue to offer Office Ultimate 2010 similar to Office Ultimate 2007, which includes all applications and products in Office series. In addition to Office 2010 suites listed above, there will also be a Office Starter 2010, a freeware to be pre-loaded on new OEM PCs which comprised only of Word Starter 2010 and Excel Starter 2010 which basic functionality.

To complement Office 2010, Microsoft is also rolling out Office Web Apps, a free online service which allows user to work with Microsoft Office files from any places and any devices (with supported browser) with Internet connection to view or perform minor editing of Word 2010, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010, and OneNote 2010 files. For constantly on-the-go people, Office Mobile 2010 is also available for Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.
